Aleister Kelman Regular rotation worthy work: super clean mix, breezy soundscapes, and feel-good beats. Much as I love sample-heavy music, I like that ookiani is taking risks with his established sound and pushing things forward in terms of instrumentation. Favorite track: Living For You (ft. SaNTINO).

thomasdoubt Synthmood feels like the after credit of a news reportage. Overall the shakeup is beautifully crafted and polished album. However it does have an emotional plateau, meaning it doesn't have much in terms of emotional expression, but it is well suited for relaxation or even dancing. Another strongpoint I would say are the keyboard tracks which are very beautiful and delicate. The style varies from 90s and early 00s electronic to various hip hop and jazz genres, and even some synthwave. Favorite track: Synthmood.

Two years after the release of my previous album THOUGHTFORM, I decided to lay low for a while and try and work on my sound. THOUGHTFORM had a lot of genre elements and was very much a mix-mash of styles, and I wanted to keep this feeling in the next album too. Now in 2020 I present to you the newest addition to your ookiiani collection: The Shakeup!

This album is a triumph for me personally in many ways - both mixing and mastering wise, but also the opportunities it gave me to work with friends both new and old.

As the 'reliance' on samples in my music has gradually lessened over time, The Shakeup was an important step for me to really address how my sound was going to develop as I move further and further towards completely sample-free music. Only around half of the album heavily uses samples, and this was a chance for me to make the music still as exciting as THOUGHTFORM; hopefully I achieved it.

This album was delayed a few times due to the current world situation; but at long last it's time to shake some things up!
